The ‘
Summary presence/absence maps of macro-endobenthos in the greater North Sea’ product was developed by Peter Herman and Willem Stolte and is based on nearly 100,000 samples from 65 datasets. It includes presence and absence data inferred from the datasets methodologies, together with rasterized maps. This dataset was then used as a basis for the product ‘
Probability maps for different benthos species in the North Sea’, developed by Alexander Barth, Peter Herman and Charles Troupin. The product makes use of a cutting-edge interpolation method to fill the gaps and provide the probability of occurrence of these benthic species in the North Sea.
As was done in other EMODnet Biology products, the code and product stories are also freely available through the metadata records. Follow the hyperlinks to find more information.
