Abstract
    Among the invertebrates recovered from the walls of the hydrothermal areas Lucky Strike and Snake Pit, vents on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, four species of halacarid mites were present. Descriptions of Halacarellus alvinus, Copidognathus alvinus and Bathyhalacarus are presented and that of Halacarellus auzendei is emended.
