Abstract
The Odd bobtail squid Heteroteuthis dispar is recorded for the first time from the southern Levant Sea, Eastern Mediterranean. The specimen was caught off Rosh-HaNiqra, Israel. Since the publication of the annotated checklist of Mediterranean molluscs of Israel by Barash & Danin (1992), 13 additional species of cephalopods have been reported off the coast of Israel. An updated checklist with the currently accepted names of the 35 species is presented.
