Abstract
    The spider crab Pisa nodipes (LEACH, 1815) is recorded for the first time on the western part of the French Channel. The previous northernmost records of this species were North-West Spain. The variations of P. nodipes are discussed and it is compared in detail with the closely linked species Pisa armata (LATREILLE, 1803).
