Abstract
    Sixty-six species of Muricidae from West Africa are revised, with most of the types examined and illustrated. Forty-five species are endemic to West Africa, nine species also live in the Mediterranean, eight species are amphiatlantic, one species occurs mainly in the northeastern Atlantic, three species are endemic to the Island of Saint Helena.
